About Dimitri

I’m Dimitri Protonentis, and I’m on a mission to make a name for myself in the world of broadcasting and media.

Growing up on the seasonal streets of Brooklyn, my Hollywood ambitions led me to sunny Los Angeles, where I’m very grateful to have graduated from USC. Fight On!

With an affinity for entertaining audiences, sparking meaningful conversations, and delivering authentic, impactful stories, I’ve honed my craft in broadcast journalism and production at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Working in campus media sharpened my skills in front of the camera while deepening my appreciation for the production and team that makes it all happen.

At USC, I created and hosted my own weather segment, Weather Worth Watching, where I started carving out my niche in weather broadcasting. I believe weather doesn’t have to feel routine or boring– it can be engaging, energetic, and personality-driven while still delivering the information people rely on. That combination of entertainment and forecasting is what excites me most, and it’s a lane I’m continuing to develop as I grow in the industry.

As a current intern at KTLA 5, I’m fired up about the future and excited to take the next steps in my career!
